How do I become a member?
- Select the box at top right hand side of screen “Become a Member.”
- Fill out your information or sign up through Facebook or Twitter. Once you have applied, you will receive email notification upon activation.
How do I change my information?
Go to the tab “My Page” at the top. Click on the “Options” drop down to: Edit Profile, Upload Profile Photo, Upload Cover Photo. Shortcut: Go to "My Page Settings".
What is the Activity Feed?
This shows all your recent activity in any groups you have joined.
What is the Member Forum?
The Member Forum is like the living room of the site, usually where people introduce themselves, and post general conversations and questions.
How do I add a discussion to the Member Forum?
Click “Forum” from the main menu and then click the + sign to the right that says, “Add Discussion.”
What is the Member Blog?
The Member Blog is an opportunity for any member to write a blog post.
How do I add a blog?
Click on “Blog” on the main menu, and then click on the + sign to the right that says “Add Blog Post.”
How can I see what Groups I’ve joined?
Go to “My Page” then select “Groups.”
How can I see discussions I’ve started?
Go to “My Page” then select “Discussions.”
How can I see Photos I’ve posted?
Go to “My Page” then select “Photos.”
How do I navigate the Groups?
- There are many ways to sort the groups. You can see “All Groups,” only see groups you have joined by selecting “My Groups,” or the “Featured Groups.”
- “All Groups” can be sorted by “Created Date” showing newest to oldest, “Name” showing groups in alphabetical order, “Latest Activity” showing which groups have had active comments, or “Most Members” which shows groups that have the highest membership first.
How do I join a group?
Select a group. Click “Join us!” the blue box at the top.
How do I leave a group?
Select the “Options” drop down menu on the right hand side of the screen. Select “Leave this group”
How do I subscribe or unsubscribe to group messages?
Select the “Options” drop down menu on the right hand side of the screen. Select “Message Settings,” either check or uncheck the box to subscribe to Group Messages. Click “OK” to save changes.
Can I invite others to a Group?
Yes. Once you are a member of a group, you can select the “Options” drop down menu and select “Invite.” This will take you to an invitation where you can email the person you wish to invite, along with a message.
How do I start a group discussion?
You must be in forum mode. Go to the group you want to start a discussion in. Select the “Forum” tab beside “Members,” then click the + sign to the right. Name your discussion and type your comments, add tags, then click publish.
How do I stay involved in a group discussion?
Click the button "follow discussion" to get emails every time someone has posted a comment on a discussion.
How do I like a group?
Click the blue star inside a white box just below the name of the group. Once you’ve liked a group, the star will be white inside a blue box.
What are tags?
Tags are a way for others to search your post. For example, if you start a discussion about healthy eating some common search terms might be: health, food, healthy eating, gluten free, sugar free, diet, etc. Tags help others with similar interests find your post.
Who else is on Project Beyond Blue?
You can go to the “Members” page and search for people alphabetically or by date of joining. You can see all members, or by clicking on “My Friends,” you can see those members you’ve already connected with. You can also search for a specific person by using the search box to the right.
How do I view a member’s page or add a friend?
To view a member’s page, just click on their name. Once at their page you can like it by clicking the blue star below their profile picture. Add them as a friend by selecting the “Friend” button. A screen asking if you want to confirm will appear, then your request will be submitted.
How do I send a private message to a friend?
Go to a member’s page and click the “Message” button at the top right (in between “Friend” and “Options”).
How can I share a photo?
Select “Photos” tab at the top of the page, click on the + sign on the right side of the page. Select a photo from your computer that you would like to share. You may name it and add comments to it. Then select “Publish.”
How do I comment on a photo?
Select a photo. Scroll down until you see “Comments.” You may add a comment in the box provided. Or you may reply to another member’s comment by clicking “Reply” under their comment.
Can I be notified when other people comment on a photo?
Yes. Click “Follow” under any photo, and you will receive email notification of any other comments that appear on that photo.
